Le Concert Royal – airs and dances from Versailles

Le Concert Royal recreates four different scenes of the French court culture during the reign of Louis XIV. Through the songs and instrumental pieces by courtly composers, pleasures of the countryside, courtly love, an imaginary world of shepherds, nymphs, and clowns, and an evening at the opera are portrayed in this program. 

Estonian soprano Marta Paklar is known for her uniquely clear and bright colour of voice.  She is rapidly acquiring a reputation as both a soloist and ensemble singer, working regularly with a number of ensembles including Collegium Vocale Gent, Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Collegium1704, and with national ensembles Floridante and Studio Vocale.
